  • Christian Education

Christian Education provides opportunities and experiences in order to develop, expand and revitalize our relationship with Jesus Christ.  These opportunities and experiences extend to our youth as well as our senior church members.  The ways we learn to express and share our faith never ends.  Christian Education at Great Falls UMC includes traditional Sunday School classes for two-year olds through adults, Wednesday morning Bible Study with Rev. Nancy Childress, small groups that meet in members’ homes, and other Discipleship opportunities.  More . . .

    Evangelism

Evangelism reaches out to those in the community by sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ to those around us -- people who may not have a church home or are new to the community.  We also reach out to the Great Falls UMC family with Care Circles to connect shut-ins with other church members, providing Communion to those unable to attend worship services, with our E-Prayer Chain and prayer requests, and by providing meals or rides as needed.  More information coming soon . . .

    Mission & Outreach

Missions & Outreach includes a number of causes and organizations that we support as a church.  To maximize our resources some projects are supported financially while others are supported with volunteers and in-kind donations.  Great Falls UMC also provides support through our connectional United Methodist Organization to needs in the United States and around the world. mission.outreach_brochure.pdf

    Music Ministry

Music Ministry at Great Falls UMC provides music for our Sunday worship services and takes our message into the world by performing in our local community.  We offer a variety of levels from Wee Sing for our preschooler during the Sunday School hour, Holy Spirit Choir for school-aged children and youth who also perform three Christian Music Dramas during the year, and our Chancel and Handbell choirs for adults.  There are also many opportunities for families to fellowship with one another. Music_Ministry_Brochure.pdf

    GFUMC Men

United Methodist Men meet for a Pot Luck dinner the third Thursday of each month during the school year to fellowship and plan projects.  The UMMen provide support to the church and its community in a variety of ways.  They raise funds for projects at the Church’s Annual Bazaar held in October; hold a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner that benefits the Society of St. Andrew; among other activities.  See our fishing trip...

    GFUMC Women

United Methodist Women are a very dedicated part of Great Falls UMC.  Strong support is given to the church, the local community, and the Arlington District United Methodist Women.  In fact, our group was a six-star contributor to the categories of Undesignated Giving for the Arlington District in 2006.  Great Falls UMW has three active Circles and holds three general meetings during the year to plan activities for fund raising for missions as well as for the entire Church Family -- including the Annual Bazaar and Dinner each October, Christmas Family Program & Potluck, Cake Auction and Cake Walk, Community Yard Sale, to mention a few.  For more about Circles and Calendar...

    Ways To Serve at Worship

Ways to Serve at Worship includes many varied opportunities from those behind the scene to participating in the worship service.  Our objective is to celebrate the living God and the Person, life and teachings of Jesus Christ through our prayers, songs, gifts and regular participation in worship.  As we strive to support and recognize the abilities, efforts and concerns of all our members and friends, we especially strive to minister to our children and youth, by providing special messages, music, programs and other activities.
